About PTFE

PTFE is made by polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene polymer,which has excellent chemical stability, corrosion-resistance, sealing, self-lubrication,nonstick, electrical insulation and good anti-aging endurance, excellent high and low temperature capability .
The mechanical properties of PTFE will be improved if add some fillers, while maintaining other PTFE excellent performance.There are several varieties of fillers such as glass fiber, metal, metal oxides, graphite, molybdenum disulfide, carbon slender, polyimide, EKONOL and so on.
PTFE is excellent for low friction bearings, bushes, rollers and pulleys. PTFE is also almost exclusively used in cryogenic components due to its ultra low operating temperatures. Unfilled P.T.F.E canbe characterised by the following properties:

  Chemically inert 

  Insoluble in all known solvents below 300ºC 

  High thermal stability, continuous service temperature range -270º to 260ºC 

  Low coefficient of friction 

  Outstanding electrical and dielectric properties 

  Resistant to stress cracking and weathering 

  Limited use in structural components because of low modulus of elasticity 

  Poor wear resistance ,  Poor mechanical strength 

  Non toxic EU and FDA approval for food contact applications 

PTFE ROD PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

PTFE   Rod is available in both virgin grades and reprocessed (mechanical) for less demanding applications. Surf Technologies extrudes rod in all standard sizes from 1/8 inch diameter  up to 8 inches in diameter. The molded ptfe rod can get to 16 inches. 

PTFE Rod has a wide range of practicable temperature from -180C~+260C and a wax-like surface to which anything hardly sticks,Ptfe rods has the lowest cfficient of friction of all known solid materials.Extursion Teflon bar has the best electrical properties of all plastic.

NOTE:All PTFE rods can be etched for bonding, and can be mounted on a plywood disk for less waste in machining. Also can be made with filled (reinforced) PTFE to enhance the performance parameters of PTFE. Materials available for reinforcement are Glass Fiber, Graphite, Bronze we can do.

There are two kinds of PTFE rods to offer:
Extrusion Rod : Produced by plunger extrusion processing of suspension teflon resin into pure rods,graphite rods and glass fiber rods.       

Size: dia.:4mm-100mm;Length: 1m, 2m... or cut according to customer's demand

Molding rod :  Produced by compression molding into pure rod and filled rod.(color,copper powder, glass fiber, graphite, carbon fiber,carbon powder,polyphenylene,etc)    Size : dia.:20mm MIN.---600mm.max. Length: 300mm. max.
